Number of staff described as having a skills gap – 1.7 million
68% of employers provided training over the last 12 months
69% of employers expect that at least some of their staff will need to acquire new skills or knowledge over the next 12 months
28% of employers used FE Colleges for training over the last 12 months (85% of these employers were satisfied or very satisfied)

Lack of experience – 71%
Lack of staff motivation – 29%
Failure to train staff – 25%
Inability of workforce to keep up with change – 25%
Almost three fifths of employers have a business plan, only two fifths have a training plan
